Medical Device Regulatory Framework - Investigational Testing
This presentation provides an overview of “Part 3 – Investigational Use” of the Canadian Medical Device Regulations. It outlines the regulatory requirements for Class II, III and IV devices and when an application is required. It also addresses combination products and how Standards are used in the regulation of devices. The presentation outlines gaps in the Investigational Testing regulations as observed by the Office of the Auditor General.

Meeting and Event Accessibility
In this learning session, we will discuss things to consider when planning in-person, virtual, and hybrid meetings and events, to make them accessible for people with different accommodation needs. We will discuss how to integrate accessibility into events and meetings before and during the meeting/event.

Mentorship Plus
Mentorship Plus is an initiative to better support leadership development, with specific emphasis on supporting members of underrepresented groups who aspire to leadership and career development. The initiative seeks to pair employees with mentors and sponsors to: • Help navigate the system for upward career mobility; • Facilitate increased visibility in informal networks; and • Provide access to developmental opportunities to build skills necessary for career advancement. The program comprises two separate components: Mentorship and Sponsorship.

METER: Basic Concepts of Radiation and Protection Principles
The e-learning course, METER: Basic Concepts of Radiation and Protection Principles is designed to provide basic concepts of radiation for a response to a radiological or nuclear emergency. This course is developed through the RN-Med-Prep project which is a collaborative effort between Health Canada, the Department of National Defence, the Public Health Agency of Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, the New Brunswick Department of Health, Horizon Health Network, Cancer Care Manitoba, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and with funding from the Canadian Safety and Security Program (CSSP).

This is important, as it is part of your job to collect information and to assess the information against a specific regulation.

Nutrition Labeling
This nutrition labelling course was created to assist health professionals and educators in sharing current and accurate nutrition information with Canadians. We have designed this course to give you a solid foundation of knowledge on nutrition labelling. This course uses the December 2016 revisions to the Food and Drug Regulations which feature improvements to the nutrition facts table and the list of ingredients, among other changes.

Obstruction for Product Safety
As an inspector, you have a responsibility to verify compliance with and enforce the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) and the Cosmetics Regulations under the Food and Drug Act (FDA). Obstructions can be physical or non-physical and may hinder an inspector from conducting their work. This course will help you in determining when an act may be considered an obstruction under the CCPSA or the FDA and provides practical examples to illustrate cases of non-physical obstruction.
