SWP-021 Handling Pesticides
This ROEB Safe Work Practice (SWP) will familiarize ROEB inspectors and field staff with some of the hazards associated with handling pesticides they may encounter in the course of their work, as well as additional information on the hazards and control measures. The SWP is in PDF format that can be downloaded for future reference. Once it has been read and understood, please complete the attestation to ensure your learning record remains up to date.

Tactical Communications for Inspectors
ROEB inspectors participating in this live virtual course will practice the communication skills and strategies needed to prepare for difficult conversations with regulated parties and stakeholders. As part of the final assessment, learners will engage in a one-on-one simulation with a facilitator and receive constructive feedback to enhance their skills. The 2024 version of this learner-centered course, delivered by experienced Health Canada inspectors, ensures learners gain confidence using various verbal techniques and models in enforcement scenarios. This course is recommended in the first 6-12 months of employment. Inspectors are encouraged to take this course every three years. Pre-requisite: Orientation to Tactical Communications

Tobacco and Vaping Products Act
This self-directed course will provide you with foundational knowledge and will introduce you to key concepts and principles that will assist you in your role as a designated Tobacco and Vaping Compliance and Enforcement Program (TVCEP) inspector. This course has been designed and developed by the Tobacco and Vaping Compliance and Enforcement Program (TVCEP) and the Tobacco Control Directorate (TCD) in collaboration with the National Learning Unit (NLU). This is a pre-designation course that is mandatory for all new TVCEP inspectors as per the Certification standards for the TVPA. There is a formal assessment at the end of this course. Learners have two attempts to achieve the minimum passing mark of 75%.
