Foundations of Inspection and Regulation
ROEB inspectors participating in this live virtual course will gain a common understanding of the regulatory role of inspectors and analysts at Health Canada. In this learner-centered course, delivered by experienced Health Canada inspectors, learners will gain an understanding of how compliance and enforcement policies are applied, how the guiding principles of compliance and enforcement determine the role and responsibilities of designated inspectors, and how regulatory inspectors use enforcement techniques and tools to minimize the department’s risk of liability. This course is recommended in the first 6-12 months of employment. Prerequisites: There are five prerequisites for this course. This is the recommended order for these prerequisite courses: 1. FS593 – Introduction to Regulatory Enforcement 2. FS632 – Building Inspector Credibility 3. FS636 – Compliance Verification Activities 4. FS631 – Understanding Inspector Powers 5. FS488 – Crown Liability in Regulatory Enforcement

Fundamental Justice: Introduction to Sample Handling for Analysts
This self-directed eLearning course will familiarize analysts pursuing designation with the concept of fundamental justice, and how it pertains to sample handling. The course will focus on the administrative duties of designated analysts, when handling samples submitted by law enforcement, inspectors, and research scientists, for the purpose of supporting the administration and enforcement of the FDA, CA, CDSA, PCPA, TVPA, and the CCPSA.
