METER: Basic Concepts of Radiation and Protection Principles
The e-learning course, METER: Basic Concepts of Radiation and Protection Principles is designed to provide basic concepts of radiation for a response to a radiological or nuclear emergency. This course is developed through the RN-Med-Prep project which is a collaborative effort between Health Canada, the Department of National Defence, the Public Health Agency of Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, the New Brunswick Department of Health, Horizon Health Network, Cancer Care Manitoba, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and with funding from the Canadian Safety and Security Program (CSSP).

This is important, as it is part of your job to collect information and to assess the information against a specific regulation.

Nutrition Labeling
This nutrition labelling course was created to assist health professionals and educators in sharing current and accurate nutrition information with Canadians. We have designed this course to give you a solid foundation of knowledge on nutrition labelling. This course uses the December 2016 revisions to the Food and Drug Regulations which feature improvements to the nutrition facts table and the list of ingredients, among other changes.

Obstruction for Product Safety
As an inspector, you have a responsibility to verify compliance with and enforce the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) and the Cosmetics Regulations under the Food and Drug Act (FDA). Obstructions can be physical or non-physical and may hinder an inspector from conducting their work. This course will help you in determining when an act may be considered an obstruction under the CCPSA or the FDA and provides practical examples to illustrate cases of non-physical obstruction.

Occupational and Psychological Health and Safety
This training provides an overview of the OHS Framework. It covers employee and manager responsibilities, hazard identification (including psychosocial risk), and the processes for the complaint resolution, incident reporting, and workers' compensation.

Open Source Research Skills
This self-directed eLearning course will familiarize ROEB inspectors with the basics of using open source research tools and techniques as they pertain to preparing for an onsite inspection. Learners will also discover how the Privacy Act and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms have an impact on open source research. This course is recommended in the first 6-12 months of employment.
