The Respect in the Workplace Office (RWO) is hosting three bilingual webinars for the National Respect in the Workplace Annual Campaign.

Marilyn Chevrier-Wills is an Anishinaabe cultural educator from the community of Timiskaming First Nation. Her spiritual name is Kishkatekwe Dishnika Mandodem (Moonlight Woman of the Clan of the Loon), but she is best known by most people inside and outside her community as “Grandma Marilyn”. Actively dedicated to the transmission and practice of her culture, Marilyn plays the role that Anishinaabe grandmothers have played for time immemorial. When not involved in the organization of events or ceremonies for her community, she is visiting an early childhood center in the region with her drum in her hand. Marilyn completed a degree in social work and Aboriginal studies at University of Sudbury. Kokoum Marilyn has become a prominent figure of Anishinaabe cultural life.

Elder Linda has worked for years supporting many of the families for the MMIWG2S. In her other qualities, she is a traditional Elder that is often there to give council and supports. She loves to share the culture and history of Indigenous peoples.

This e-learning course, Note Taking for Product Safety, was developed to provide a common point of reference as well as encourage the adoption of key note-taking practices. This is important, as it is part of your job to collect information and to assess the information against a specific regulation.

This nutrition labelling course was created to assist health professionals and educators in sharing current and accurate nutrition information with Canadians. We have designed this course to give you a solid foundation of knowledge on nutrition labelling. This course uses the December 2016 revisions to the Food and Drug Regulations which feature improvements to the nutrition facts table and the list of ingredients, among other changes.

As an inspector, you have a responsibility to verify compliance with and enforce the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) and the Cosmetics Regulations under the Food and Drug Act (FDA). Obstructions can be physical or non-physical and may hinder an inspector from conducting their work. This course will help you in determining when an act may be considered an obstruction under the CCPSA or the FDA and provides practical examples to illustrate cases of non-physical obstruction.

This self-directed eLearning course will familiarize ROEB inspectors and analysts with the basics of using open source research tools and techniques as they pertain to preparing for an onsite inspection. Participants will also discover how the Privacy Act and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms have an impact on open source research. This course is recommended in the first 6-12 months of employment.
