Description

Bargaining agents are unions or associations that represent you, the public servant. They ensure that your wages, hours, and working conditions are in your best interest. As such, employees from Health Canada (HC) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) are invited to take part in an information session with bargaining agents.

This bilingual session aims to:

• Familiarize HC and PHAC employees with their respective bargaining agents.

• Clarify the role and benefits of unions, the importance of collective agreements, union registration, and volunteerism.

• Provide participants with an opportunity to ask questions to bargaining agent representatives concerning their specific collective agreements. This will be done in separate breakout room format, by union. A representative from the following unions will be present:

o Union of Health and Environment Workers (UHEW-PSAC);

o Professional Institute of Public Service of Canada (PIPSC);

o Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE);

o Association of Canadian Financial Officers (ACFO); and

o International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
