Description

To celebrate the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie, all employees are invited to take part in this event entitled “The history of Canadian Francophonie”, presented by Philippe Basque, an historian from New Brunswick.

Philippe Basque, the renown historian at the Acadian Historical Village of New Brunswick, in Bertrand, will provide his insightful overview of the history and evolution of Canadian Francophonie.

Mr. Basque is very active in his community. He annually presents workshops in public schools and several communications for the general public. In 2015, he published his first book “Histoires de vies à Saint-Isidore” in the “Mémoire vivant” collection. Since then, Philippe has published three other volumes as well as the history of the Acadian Historical Village in 2017 and Aspects of daily life in Acadia from 1900 to 1950 in 2020. Passionate about history, he devotes part of his research to the preservation and diffusion of collective memory.
