Description
Official Languages Day is an opportunity to promote Canada’s official languages and celebrate the country’s rich linguistic heritage from coast to coast to coast. This annual event highlights the central role that official languages play in shaping Canadian identity and the values of the federal public service.
Under the theme “Uniting Around Canadian Books”, the event will focus on the diversity of Canadian voices and the importance of literature in fostering discovery, learning, and building bridges between Canada’s two official language communities.
Participants will explore books that reflect a wide range of Canadian realities and gain new perspectives on the role of literature in intercultural dialogue.
This event is organized by the Council of Official Languages Champions, in partnership with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and the Department of Canadian Heritage, and in collaboration with the Linguistic Duality Network.
