Description

*In- Person Event Only*

The ICCL team will present the Reconciling History Program at Beechwood Cemetery. This in-person guided tour provides an opportunity to reflect on how Beechwood Cemetery is incorporating the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada: Calls to Action. Beechwood strives to show both sides of history by not excluding the impact many prominent Canadians buried in their grounds had on the Indigenous community. Choosing rather to highlight both their achievements and their short comings to provide a rounded view of history.

Participating in this program is a meaningful step toward understanding Canada’s complex past and engaging in the ongoing process of reconciliation. This event encourages critical reflection, fosters dialogue, and deepens awareness of the legacy of colonialism and residential schools.
