Description

This full day webinar (completed over 2, 3 hour sessions) places the emphasis on the risks of providing high-quality services to others in an effort to address their emotional distress and a wide range of sources of suffering they may be experiencing. It alerts participants to the need to be aware of the inherent risks of developing, over time, psychological distress, compassion fatigue, empathic distress, vicarious trauma and burnout as well as the risk of resulting impaired professional competence. It therefore, explores steps to prevent, attenuate and recover from such trauma-related employment stress.

There will be an English and French session occurring on January 22 and 23, 2024. The French session will run between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on both days and the English session will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. This will give the participants a break and allow them to digest the content of the course. There is a maximum of 20 participants for each session.
