Description

Are you new to the world of public health, a new employee at the Public Health Agency of Canada, or a long-time employee looking for a knowledge refresh? Would you like to learn more about key concepts in public health and how the public health system works in Canada? Then join us for this short introductory course.

In about one hour, you will review what public health is, what the mandate of PHAC is, some key principles in the field of public health, the types of professionals who work in public health and what the roles and functions of the public health system in Canada are. Not only will you be more prepared to work in this new field or new organization, but you will have a better sense of how our work fits into the public health system at large.
