Description

Health equity exists when all people can reach their full health potential and are not disadvantaged due to their race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, or other socially determined circumstance. In this video we explore the intersection of health equity and emergency management, starting with the Health Portfolio Sex-and Gender-Based Analysis Plus policy, and how this can be incorporated into all stages of the emergency management planning cycle. By including health equity approaches into our emergency management plans and processes, we can help to ensure that all Canadians have access to the resources and supports they need in times of emergency.
