Description
This course presents key aspects of the Health Canada and Public Health Agency of Canada Scientific Integrity Policy (HC-PHAC SIP) in an engaging and interactive way. The short modules use scenarios to present important information and include a variety of learning activities so that you can check your understanding and assess your learning throughout.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain how you can adhere to the principles of scientific integrity and standards of responsible research conduct in your work
- Recognize potential interference or conflicts of interest, and identify ways to avoid them
- Explain why openness and transparency are important, and determine when and how you should acknowledge contributions to scientific outputs
- Identify a breach of scientific integrity and know what you can do to address it
- Explain your rights and responsibilities when publicly communicating on matters of research or science
- Explain your rights and responsibilities when disseminating your research and scientific findings
