Description

Join the PHAC Open Science Community of Practice (OSCoP), in the Office of the Chief Science Officer, to learn more about First Nations data sovereignty and the principles of OCAP (Ownership, Control, Access and Possession)

The PHAC Open Science CoP will host the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC) to deliver a presentation on the OCAP principles and their role in establishing how data and other information from First Nations peoples and communities are to be collected, protected, used, and shared, as well as more information about other resources offered by the FNIGC.

Learning more about OCAP and First Nations data sovereignty allows PHAC’s science workforce an opportunity to gain knowledge about respectful and equitable research and data management processes with Indigenous Peoples.

To make this information available to as many participants as possible, this presentation has been offered on two dates/times. The first one took place on April 17, and you can register for the May 1 session using the registration link below.

May 1st from 1:00pm to 2:00pm ET
