First celebrated in 1992, Indigenous Awareness Week aims to foster a deeper understanding, appreciation, and acknowledgement of Indigenous cultures, histories, and realities through collaborative learning and sharing of knowledge.

This engaging event featuring Elder Verna McGregor will highlight the significant contributions that Indigenous Peoples have made to Canada and demonstrate the richness of Indigenous storytelling by sharing important lessons surrounding the Anishinaabe Algonquin Creation Story and the Seven Grandfather Teachings.

Participants will learn about the importance of celebrating Indigenous Awareness Week and what it means to Indigenous Peoples in Canada, as well as how to apply lessons from the featured teachings to daily life.
