Description
Description
Reconciliation is an ongoing process through which Indigenous Peoples and the Crown are collaborating to establish and maintain a framework for working together and to foster solid, healthy and sustainable Indigenous nations within a strong Canada. This process requires acknowledging the past, knowing our true history and working together to implement Aboriginal rights.
This event features a panel of First Nations, Inuit and Métis representatives who will share their views on how to achieve better relationships through improved engagement and consultation, along with success stories and best practices to advance reconciliation. Panellists will provide suggestions on how to strengthen our mutual understanding of reconciliation in order to develop harmonious interactions between Indigenous Peoples and the Government of Canada.
Participants will learn best practices to adopt when it comes to the essentials of relationships, engagement, consultation and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
The event is presented in partnership with Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada.
