Description
In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, PHAC has planned the Nanook's Navigation Toolbox: Mastering the Art of Cross-Cultural Communication sessions. These two sessions will build your competency for working with Inuit People through understanding their history, unique government structure and Inuit-Crown relationships, as well as how to effectively communicate with Inuit partners and government.
Kevin Qamaniq-Mason from Akini Consulting specializes in representing Inuit People. These sessions will help public servants identify what we should know about the Inuit, how to apply an Inuit lens to our work, as well as how to partner and communicate effectively to advance public health. The principles of cross cultural communication with Inuit People can also be applied across all three distinction groups.
Registration for the English session gives you a seat at the Sept 3 and/or the Sept 5 session. A recording of September 3 session will be avalible to registered participents until Sept 5 at 12:00 pm. No recording will be avalible of the Sept 5th session.
Session One: This virtual event will take place on September 3 from 10:00 to 11:30 ET.
Session Two: This virtual event will take place on September 5 from 1:00 to 2:30 ET.
Please ensure you complete BOTH the Pre and Post Surveys when you register for each session for your participation to be credited and tracked and a reminder to include an Indigenous learning objective labeled with the code ‘ICC’ in your Personal Learning and Development Plan (PLDP) section of your Performance Management Agreement (PMA).
