Description
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a commemorative day observed in Canada on September 30 each year. The day is dedicated to honouring the Survivors of residential schools and their families, as well as acknowledging the lasting impact of the residential school system on Indigenous communities across Canada.
This event, held in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, will focus on how allyship and decolonization can help advance reconciliation between Indigenous Peoples and the non-Indigenous population in Canada.
Participants will gain insight into what decolonization means in relation to Indigenous Rights, culture and stewardship of the land, and be empowered to become effective allies in the journey towards justice and reconciliation.
This event is presented in partnership with the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
