Have you ever wondered about the role of tobacco in Indigenous cultures? Why is it so important to offer tobacco when connecting with Elders and Knowledge Keepers?

 

In this session, you’ll learn the significance of tobacco and other gifts in building respectful relationships and advancing reconciliation. Whether or not you are working directly with Indigenous partners, this knowledge is valuable to everyone.

 

Join Lance Guilbault, Cree Anishinaabe from Ochewisiti (Fisher River Cree Nation), as he shares the traditional protocols of offering tobacco and gifts. Gain insights into the importance of these practices across First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities.
