Indigenous Engagement Coordination Forum Training: Inuit Nunangat Policy 101

May 27, 2025 @ 1:30pm – 2:30pm (EST)

Language: Please note that this session is only offered in English

Come join us for a one-hour introduction to the Inuit Nunangat Policy!

The Inuit Nunangat Policy (INP) Implementation Secretariat from Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) are leading the work to advance the GC’s implementation of the INP. Endorsed in 2022, the INP is the first overarching, whole-of-government policy co-developed by the federal government and Inuit. Its goal is to achieve socio-economic equity between Inuit and other Canadians, while also recognizing and informing Canadians about the distinct geographic, cultural, and political significance of Inuit Nunangat.

The INP Implementation Secretariat organizes INP 101 information sessions to enhance awareness and understanding of the Policy, thereby advancing the implementation of the INP. These sessions will cover an overview of the INP, an overview of the Cabinet Directive, the Secretariat's progress to date, and upcoming steps.

Why should you attend? This policy applies to all federal departments and agencies. It guides them in the design, development and delivery of initiatives that apply in Inuit Nunangat or benefit Inuit.

Please note: This training is open to IECF members and members of their teams.

Please contact indigenousrelations-relationsautochtones@phac-aspc.gc.ca if you have any questions.
