Description
IAW is an annual federal government week-long event celebrated the third week of May. First celebrated in 1992, IAW has evolved into a meaningful occasion to honour and learn from the rich cultures and traditions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
This year, the ICC Team in partnership with CSPS and other government department has planned a vibrant agenda to celebrate Indigenous culture through activities, sessions, performances, and culinary experiences, with an engaging launch on Tuesday, May 20. These initiatives reflect our commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) Call to Action #57 and the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Calls for Justice #15.2 and #15.3, promoting cultural understanding and respect.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to honk at us! To have your participation recorded as part of your required annual ICC learning, register and complete the pre- and post-reflections on the MyLearning Page for this event.
