Description
Come sit with Lance Guilbault; cultural teacher, knowledge keeper and Oshkaabewus (helper), and gain an understanding of how to navigate the evolving social and workplace expectations in the pursuit of reconciliation. Lance has built a reputation of delivering impactful Indigenous knowledge in a personable, comfortable and often humorous way, making complex topics accessible and memorable.
In addition to the sensitivities around Land Acknowledgments, Lance will discuss why recognizing the territory in which you reside or work has become important and share guidance on the current socio-political language to use.
While this session will not focus on developing a personal Land Acknowledgement, you will gain a deeper understanding of the evolution of these practices and learn how to navigate a reconciliation-focused environment as both a federal public servant and person living in Canada.
