Description

CIEDAR P2 presents an Indigenous Health Emergencies Webinar Series. A webinar series which aims to foster dialogue, learning, and collaboration around key themes affecting Indigenous communities during health emergencies.

These one-hour webinars will highlight our collective efforts to ensure that Indigenous Peoples thrive.

This five-part series will cover the following:

CIEDAR P2’s National Framework for Indigenous Pandemic Preparedness

Indigenous approaches to pandemics

Climate-related and broader environmental health emergencies

Sustaining pandemic research networks in changing social and political landscapes

Workshopping projects done by recipients of CIEDAR P2’s seed funding.

Our third webinar will highlight the work of the Turtle Team. FNHSSM Turtle Team is an Indigenous group dedicated to providing comprehensive and culturally-grounded support to First Nations relatives during health emergencies. Over the course of an hour, several members of the Turtles Team will discuss their efforts during COVID-19 and the recent wildfires.

The Turtle Team’s work is truly inspiring, demonstrating the strength of community-led initiatives and the assertion of Indigenous sovereignty.
