Description
A Day in the Life Of - Amy Lamb, A Remote Pharmacist
As public servants, it can be difficult to connect with the realities of Indigenous communities across Canada. A Day in the Life is a series that partners with Indigenous health professionals working in diverse Indigenous contexts to highlight what a typical day looks like, and how policies at the provincial and federal levels impact the wellbeing of the communities they serve. This series will be released periodically by the ICC Team.
Episode 1: Where Medicine Meets Community features Amy Lamb, a Métis pharmacist and CEO of the Indigenous Pharmacy Professionals of Canada, who serves as the satellite pharmacist for Red Earth Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. Join her on her weekly journey from the distribution site to Red Earth Cree Nation, where she provides essential medications to community members. This episode explores the barriers remote Indigenous communities face in accessing medications, prescriptions, and immunizations, and highlights how health spaces also serve as vital community spaces.
