This training is designed to give participants a better understanding of the historical, legal, social and political circumstances of Inuit in the South and provide insight into Inuit culture, traditional parenting practices, the effects of colonization and urbanization on Inuit families, and much more.
The training will be delivered by Sandra Thibaudeau and Tauni Sheldon. Sandra is from Nunavut and currently lives in Ottawa, working with Inuit children and youth. Tauni is a Sixties Scoop survivor from Nunavik who currently works with various Child and Family Services agencies in Ontario to support Inuit children, youth and families involved with the child welfare system.
