Description
What is involved in becoming a mentor?
A mentor is an experienced public servant who can offer advice and support to build a mentee’s skillsets, by
- Meeting regularly with their mentee to assist them in identifying career objectives, strengths, weaknesses, and areas for development;
- Suggesting learning and development opportunities for the mentee to consider; and
- Providing the mentee with feedback and recommendations periodically to support their development.
How to become a mentor?
A mentor is a Health Canada or Public Health Agency of Canada employee from any occupational group or level. Mentors are not required to be part of an underrepresented group. To become a mentor, complete the mentor questionnaire to build your mentor profile. Once complete, you will be contacted by the Mentorship Plus team for matching opportunities.
