This self-directed eLearning course will familiarize ROEB inspectors and analysts with the basics of using open source research tools and techniques as they pertain to preparing for an onsite inspection. Participants will also discover how the Privacy Act and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms have an impact on open source research. This course is recommended in the first 6-12 months of employment.
Organise your information using HC/PHAC Functional Classification Standard
This interactive e-learning course will introduce you to the Health Canada/Public Health Agency of Canada Functional Classification Standard - a system for arranging all of the organization’s business value information according to structured business processes. This is a brief two module course designed to increase your awareness of the Standard, as well as improve and harmonize the manner in which you classify and organize the information you handle. Learners will engage in an immersive simulation experience where they will make choices and experience consequences in real-life scenarios with regulated parties. This course is recommended in the first 6-12 months of employment.
Orientation to Tactical Communications
This self-directed eLearning course will familiarize ROEB inspectors and analysts with tactical communication principles and practices. Learners will discover why effective communication skills are essential in the regulatory environment. This course provides the solid theoretical foundation required to participate in Tactical Communications for Inspectors. Participants must print out their own documents and bring them to the course. ***All participants are expected to bring a copy of the Act (s) they enforce. Please note: You are required to attend a minimum of 85% of the course in order to receive your certificate of completion.
Orientation Training for RBA and MSO
Course Objective: Responsible Building Authorities (RBAs)¹ and Most Senior Officials (MSOs)² act on the behalf of the employer to ensure the health and safety of building occupants by implementing duties, as prescribed in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and policies, and through monitoring OHS activities in the workplace.
